December 31, 2017Mrs Akufo-Addo Supports Maternal Center at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital
A few months ago, a multimedia documentary depicted the gruesome conditions at the maternal center at the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital. The first lady took it upon herself, and with support from corporate entities and generous individuals, a newly built center with new equipment is ready for use. This is a step in the right direction. It’s our hope that you find the resources to finish the main maternal structure. Thank you Mrs Akufo-Addo for standing up for women and children in our country.
Mrs Akufo-Addo stated on her Facebook page, I am truly proud of what we have accomplished. The Multimedia Group highlighted the tragedies at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. A problem of lack of space resulting in needless deaths. This needed urgent action and with your support ( Corporate Bodies and Individuals) we have been able to build a modern new facility in 5 record months. Each baby will have its own cot because we now have a capacity for 130 babies and 11 children.
Provision has been made for 12 simultaneous births. We have top of the line equipment as well to support our precious pregnant mothers and babies when delivered. The icing on the cake is that this is a green facility, eco-friendly and meets international standards.
