NPP-USA Branch Energizes Manhyia South Constituency with Fun Games

The United States branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday, July 11th, 2022 which was a holiday, organised some FUN games for the youth of Manhyia South Constituency dubbed NPP-USA cup. A football game between the youth of Abbeys Park and Astown boys in the Manhyia South Constituency was used to climax the holiday activities.

Presenting jerseys and medals as well as the glittering trophy to the winning team and the runners up, Obaa Yaa Frimpong, Chairperson of the USA branch of NPP commended the youth wings of her branch and Manhyia-South for hosting the youth to exciting games. Obaa Yaa disclosed that the USA branch intends to collaborate more with the Manhyia-South Youth wing so that it could plan for more activities related to job creation and empowerment for the youth in the communities within the NPP stronghold.

Danny Opoku Antwi, Youth Organizer for the NPP USA branch said it was important that the youth were given opportunity to showcase the talent they have within them. The football game and other fun games including training workshops and skills development events, he noted have been planned to harness the potentials in the youth of the country in the coming days.

Henry Badu Kobi, Youth organizer for Manhyia-South NPP commended the USA branch of the party for helping to organise the fun games in the constituency. He noted the wing’s readiness to collaborate more with the branch to train and empower the youth in the communities in Manhyia-South so that each can become employable and useful for the area.

The Consular General of Ghana in New York, H.E Atta Boafo Daniel Kingsley addressing the youth at the games urged them to avail themselves to opportunities including skills training that would be presented to them at the constituency. By that, he noted that they would be adding some premium to themselves and also stand in a good position to secure jobs to better their lives.

Present at the games were branch executives of the USA NPP and other Diaspora’s executives who had travelled to participate in Saturday’s National conference of the party including Mrs. Obaa Yaa Amponsah Frimpong, NPP-USA Chairperson, Emmanuel Mensah, NPP- USA Deputy Secretary, Dennis Oppong Kyekyeku Branch Financial Secretary, Alhaji Saani Ibrahim, Branch Nasara Coordinator, H.E Atta Boafo Daniel Kingsley, Consul General New York Missions, Deputy MD Precious Minerals Marketing Company and former NPP-USA Communications Director, Josephine Agyekum Wallace, Head, International Relations Ghana Scholarship Secretariat, Richard Gyamfi, Canada Branch Secretary, Samuel Yaw Asirifi, Michael Amoako, Columbus Chapter Chairman, National Youth Organizer aspirant, Michael Osei Boateng (Pope), Upper East Regional Youth Organizer, Salahudeen Musah, Finland Youth Organizer, Frank Asamoah and Germany Youth Organizer, Ruth Lindenberg.

Also making appearance at the games were Dr. Afua Sarkodie Mensah, Former deputy ambassador to France and Ghana’s Representative to UNESCO, Kwabena Ampofo Appiah (Vyrus), MD for the State Housing Company Limited, Kofi Tonto former NPP-USA Communication Director and head of communications at Ghana Embassy in Washington DC, Frank Duodu, Ashanti Regional NADMO Boss, Hon. Kwabena Nsekyire, immediate past 1st Vice Chairman of NPP Ashanti and NADMO Boss, Seth Twumasi, Manhyia South Constituency 1st Vice Chairman and Ashanti Regional YEA boss, Fred Okyere (Fish) Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman aspirant, Otabil Ellis, Effutu Constituency Communications Officer, Patrick Frimpong, Presiding Member, KMA, Raphael Patrick Sarfo, Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer, Hon. Samuel Amankwaa former Ashtown Assembly member, and many others including Kwadwo Poku ‘Mahala former Ghana Black Stars and Kotoko Player as well as Eric Nii Baah formerly of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who were all resident of Ashtown.

The first prize was presented with a trophy, set of jersey, 20 gold medal, and cash prize while the second prize also received a set of jersey, 20 silver medals, and cash prize.
