NPP-USA Congratulates Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia On His Election as the 2028 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party
February 1, 2026NPP-USA Message on International Women’s Day 2026
Today, NPP-USA joins the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day 2026, honoring the strength, leadership, and contributions of women across Ghana and the Ghanaian diaspora.
This year’s campaign theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us of a powerful truth: when societies invest in women—through opportunity, mentorship, resources, and leadership—the entire nation benefits. Empowering women is not an act of charity; it is a strategic investment in progress, prosperity, and justice.
The United Nations theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” further challenges us to move beyond words and commit to tangible actions that dismantle barriers, confront harmful social norms, and ensure that every woman and every girl can fully realize her potential.
The New Patriotic Party tradition has long stood for freedom, opportunity, and human dignity. Within that tradition, the empowerment of women and the protection of the rights of the girl child remain essential pillars of national development. Women have played decisive roles in the growth of our party and in strengthening Ghana’s democratic journey—from grassroots organizing to leadership in governance and public service.
As a diaspora branch, NPP-USA embraces the spirit of “Give to Gain.” We commit to advancing this vision by:
-
Supporting and promoting women’s leadership within our party and across our chapters
-
Mentoring and empowering young women and girls to participate actively in politics, civic leadership, and national development
-
Advocating for policies that remove barriers to women’s advancement in Ghana and protect the rights of the girl child
-
Using our platforms to amplify the voices and achievements of Ghanaian women both at home and across the diaspora
NPP-USA is particularly proud to be led by a strong and visionary woman, a living testament to the transformative power of women’s leadership. Her stewardship reflects what becomes possible when women are given the space and support to lead.
Today we celebrate the women who paved the way, the women shaping our present, and the girls whose dreams will define Ghana’s future.
When we give women opportunity, we all gain.
Happy International Women’s Day.
