NPP-USA Condemns President Mahama’s Escalation from “Terminator-in-Chief” to “Silencer-in-Chief”

Public Alert: Beware of Fabricated Reports and Malicious Disinformation
April 18, 2025A Salute to the Faithful — and a Word for the Deceptive
As our cherished Muslim brethren conclude the sacred month of Ramadan, we extend our heartfelt congratulations for your steadfastness, discipline, and devotion. May Allah’s mercy abound in your homes, may your sacrifices be accepted, and may the peace of Eid al-Fitr bring renewal to your souls and families. Your spiritual journey is a profound testament to perseverance, humility, and faith; virtues from which our entire nation can draw strength and inspiration.
Yet, even as we celebrate this sacred season, we must confront a disquieting trend that undermines the integrity of our national leadership.
During the 2024 general elections, President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) publicly ridiculed H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a devout Muslim, for his visible participation in Christian worship; attending church services, partaking in communion, and embracing interfaith fellowship. In doing so, they cast aspersions on a man’s faith simply because he dared to embody national unity beyond religious lines.
Fast forward to today: the same President Mahama now extends an invitation to our Muslim brethren, hosting them at the Jubilee House to commemorate Eid al-Fitr—a gesture, in principle, worthy of commendation. But in light of past behavior, the move rings hollow. We welcome the act; but we reject the duplicity.
This is not leadership; it is political theater. A carefully scripted performance, choreographed to appease, not to inspire. For God does not judge appearances, but intention. He does not praise the costume, but the character.
President Mahama’s conduct exemplifies the very essence of double standards—a chameleon cloaked in unity, preaching color-blindness while practicing division. One moment, he derides a man for worshipping across denominations; the next, he celebrates interfaith solidarity for political gain. This is not diplomacy; it is duplicity, plain and clear.
Both the Bible and the Qur’an speak unequivocally on such inconsistency:
“A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
“Wavering between them, [belonging] neither to these nor to those. And whoever Allah leaves astray; never will you find for him a way.”
Both scriptures affirm that double-mindedness breeds instability, and that hypocrisy invites divine disfavor.
The rebuke deepens:
“Woe unto you… for you are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of bones and everything unclean.”
“And when you see them, their appearance pleases you, and if they speak, you listen to their words. [But] they are like pieces of wood propped up; they think every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?”
Is this not the very picture of President Mahama’s political inconsistency? A man who publicly parades as a unifier, yet behind the curtain, manipulates religious sentiment for personal gain? Who extends a hand in fellowship when it suits him, only to withdraw it when division becomes politically convenient?
Ghanaians must not be deceived. The tongue that utters “Salaam” today may sow discord tomorrow. The hand that pours tea in the name of peace may soon point in accusation when elections draw near.
We call upon all Ghanaians; Muslims, Christians, and people of every faith, to discern beyond the facade. Let us no longer fall for these sleights of hand, where unity is performed for applause, and division wielded as a tool of political strategy.
To our Muslim brothers and sisters: may your Eid be filled with the joy of faith, the peace of Allah, and the enduring comfort of truth. And may we, as a nation, stand with those who live their faith with consistency; not as a costume for political convenience, but as a compass for moral integrity.
For in the end, truth requires no disguise, and integrity seeks no applause.
